Sorata

Escape the bustle of La Paz and head with us across the Altiplano towards the majestic snow-capped peak of Illampu.

Day 1: Cumbre Sorata - Sorata
Early in the morning we leave La Paz and go to a high pass (5000 meters) where the Sorata Valley starts. This will be the starting point for our 42 km descend, downhill mountain biking on either a dirt road or single track to the small town of Sorata, the adventure capital of Bolivia. Depending on the experience and skill level of the group, we?ll choose which of the many possible trails to take that lead us down into the valley. Less experienced bikers can choose easier trails or even stay on the main road. We´ll stay overnight in Sorata.

Day 2: Chuchu - Sorata
After a good night´s sleep in Sorata, we will drive to the Chuchu pass at 4790m. Enjoy the superb view of the peaks of Illampu and Ancohuma, proudly towering above the mountain range, "Cordillera Real." This is where your single track adventure starts. The level of difficulty on this day varies from intermediate to advanced, depending on the trails we choose to follow. Three and a half hours later we will be back in Sorata from where we will return to La Paz.
